Holiday destination
The harbour of Surville is a designated natural Park, with unspoilt golden sandy beaches stretching for kilometres in either direction. The nearby market towns of Portbail, la Haye du Puits and Barneville Carteret have a good selection of shops, supermarkets and restaurants as well as a weekly street market. Further afield, there is plenty to visit including cherbourg, Bayeux, Granville and the Mont st. Michel. There are day trips across to the Channel islands of Jersey and Guernsey.

Eines der besten Ferienhäuser mit Selbstverpflegung, in dem wir je übernachtet haben. Großzügiger, luftiger Raum, makellose Sauberkeit, voll ausgestattete Küche mit vorab bereitgestellten Grundnahrungsmitteln, super bequeme Matratze. Zusätzliche Punkte für die Waschmaschine/Trockner, die bei Reisen mit Kindern sehr praktisch ist. Die Schlossgründe sind wunderschön und man wird zudem von einem Empfangskomitee aus drei niedlichen kleinen Hunden begrüßt, die es lieben, den Bauch gestreichelt zu bekommen. Viele abgelegene, sandige Strände befinden sich im Umkreis von 10 bis 15 Minuten Fahrt. Wir hoffen, bei unserem nächsten Besuch in der Normandie wieder hier zu übernachten.

Sehr freundlich wurden wir von Gerard und Christin empfangen. Das Cottage, die Einrichtung und das Anwesen sind superschön, zum wohlfühlen und genießen. Das Meer ist fußläufig zu erreichen, die Sonnenuntergänge waren traumhaft. Die Umgebung ist sehr einsam. Anreisen mit dem Auto und am besten mit Fahrrädern ist empfehlenswewert.
Herrlich zum Radeln. Internet WLAN funktionierte nicht, das Netz hatte ebenso schlechten Empfang, deutsches Fernsehprogramm gibt es auch nicht. Uns hat es trotzdem richtig gut gefallen.
