Es ist ein wahres Juwel: die Gîte Marie-Rose in der Picardie. Sie besticht durch einen riesigen, idyllischen Garten voller versteckter Winkel und einem Gemüsebeet, in dem allerlei Köstliches wächst. Jeden Tag, wenn ich nach Hause kam oder rausging, roch ich die Kräuter im Garten. Das bleibt mir in Erinnerung. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich herzlich: Man wird mit „Tarte au Rhubarbe“ (vom eigenen Rhabarber: lecker!) begrüßt und sie geben gerne Tipps zur Region. Diese hat viel mehr zu bieten, als viele ahnen: Es ist das Marne-Tal mit seiner hügeligen, abwechslungsreichen Landschaft aus Wäldern und Champagner-Weinbergen. Und schließlich standen sie mir mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, als ich ein Problem mit der Klimaanlage in meinem Auto hatte (es herrschte eine Hitzewelle). Kurzum: Unvergesslich und unbedingt wiederholenswert!

Ein fantastisches Cottage mit einem noch schöneren Garten. Ein traditionelles Ferienhaus mit Besitzern, die eine Gastfreundschaft bieten, die ich in keinem anderen Ferienhaus erlebt habe. Ein wirklich wunderbarer Ort.
