Holiday destination
Our lodge is situated at an altitude of 1350 meters, surrounded by the impressive peaks of the Mandlwand and the Hochkönig (2941m). Dating back to 1790, the lodge is nestled in an enchanting setting, as if stepping into a postcard! The tranquility, the snow-covered alpine meadows, and the babbling mountain stream complete the picture. This is pure Alpine bliss!
The lodge is constructed from natural materials such as stone and wood. It features a large garden, a covered terrace, and an atmospheric wellness area, including a sauna and a wood-fired hot tub. Here, you can truly unwind. The lodge enjoys a splendid south-facing position and is just 25 meters away from the ski slopes of the Hochkönig ski area, part of Ski Amadé (760 km of slopes and 270 lifts).
Thanks to its favorable location, Mühlbach am Hochkönig is known as a 'snow trap'. From early December to mid-April, the lifts are operational, and you can enjoy a magnificent winter landscape. At the end of the day, you can ski right up to the front door. The bus stop for the (free) ski bus is located 25 meters from our lodge. Thus, you can leave your car parked for free on our parking lot all week long.
In the immediate vicinity, there are various cross-country skiing opportunities. For snowboarders and freestyle skiers, there are several fun parks. Additionally, you can go on ski tours, toboggan, or take a sleigh ride in the area. You can also enjoy one of the many groomed hiking trails, have a drink at one of the cozy wooden huts, or take a day trip to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Salzburg. At the weekly bonfire, you can get to know each other. With a cup of hot mulled wine or chocolate with whipped cream in hand, the snow quietly crunching under your feet, soft sheepskins to keep you warm, and the children can still sled a bit in the large garden.

Getting there
From the north (Germany), take the Munich – Salzburg motorway (A8) and then continue on the Tauern motorway A10 towards Villach. At exit 47, turn right towards Bischofshofen (B311), after about 4 kilometers, turn right towards Bischofshofen/Mühlbach am Hochkönig (B159). After about 9 kilometers, you will reach Mühlbach am Hochkönig. Before the town center, just after the road narrows and the bus stop, turn right onto Mandlwandstrasse. Our apartment is located after 6.3 kilometers on the left side, shortly after a sharp right turn.
