Maccagno is a small town on Lake Maggiore, which offers a lot: Freeclimber right on the rocks on the Lago, cycling (road bike and mountain bike) and visit the famous market in Luino, Museum of Contemporary Art, long walks and hiking right here, swimming, Boating, pedal boating, beach volleyball or tennis. Maccagno offers departures by boat to Stresa, Cannobbio, Locarno and the Borromean Islands and many other beautiful places.

Cascina Borchina can be reached by car in about 10 minutes from Maccagno and its beaches (about 4 km from the hill). You have to climb up the hill for about 10 minutes. Before Campagnano turn into a forest road. Finca Cascina Borchina is located on a hill and offers breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore and in words it is really hard to describe. That's why we've taken a lot of pictures (all from our estate, not from viewpoints) so you can have a true idea of our views and land. After all, it is only part of what we offer. We assure you that it is much nicer in "reality"!
Getting there
Cascina Borchina can be reached by car in about 10 minutes from Maccagno and its beaches (about 4 km from the hill). Maccagno is a famous holiday destination from spring to late autumn, due to its proximity to the border with Switzerland (about 6 km). Maccagno is a small town on the Lago Maggiore, which offers a lot: free climber in every season right on the rocks on the Lago, hiking and cycling (road bike and mountain bike) and the famous market on Wednesday in Luino (about 5 km away) .You can Visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art, taking long walks on the lake, swimming, boating, pedal boating, beach volleyball or tennis, (on the lake) or dining in good restaurants and pizzerias. The nearest restaurant is 1.5 km from the finca. In spring, summer and autumn, Maccagno offers departures by boat to Stresa, Cannobbio, Locarno and the Borromean Islands and many other beautiful places.
Cascina Borchina ideal for long walks Hiking and Freeclimber, but also in the cities shopping and sightseeing. By car: Lugano (Switzerland) is only 35 minutes, Locarno (Switzerland) 30 minutes, Milan in about 1:20 by car or train,, Lake Como, about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Near Lugano there is also an Outlett with over 80 shops, which is open all year.
Maccagno has a post office, a pharmacy, a bank and a supermarket, a laundry and a car-sharing service, several well-developed climbing walls for free climbers.

Ein schöner Ort mit einem absolut fantastischen Blick auf den See – man kann sich nicht losreißen. Bettina und Andrea haben das gesamte Anwesen liebevoll gestaltet und die Apartments sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Sie kümmern sich hervorragend um ihre Gäste – es ist fast wie ein Besuch bei Freunden. Es gibt Liegen und Sitzbereiche, die verstreut sind, sodass man je nach Sonnenstand "herumwandern" kann – immer mit einem herrlichen Ausblick.

Eine sehr schöne Ferienwohnung (wir haben in Violetta übernachtet) mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht! Sehr gute und hochwertige Einrichtung, alles sehr geschmackvoll dekoriert. Bettina und Andrea geben gute Empfehlungen und sind vor Ort hilfsbereit.
Die Kochnische ist gut ausgestattet; wir haben in Unterkünften übernachtet, die nur zwei Bestecksets hatten, aber das ist hier definitiv nicht der Fall! Frische Kräuter zum Kochen sind im Garten verfügbar.
Maccagno selbst ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Restaurants und einen Supermarkt – und es gibt einen Fähranleger, den wir mehrmals genutzt haben, um die andere Seite des Sees oder den südlichen Teil des Lago Maggiore zu erkunden.
