In the close surrounding of the holiday apartment one may find some extraordinary cultural and historic highlights which invite the visitor to stay. In the surrounding of Itzgrund one may experience the beautiful country side with it's fresh fields, fertile acres, forested mountain ranges and the fresh Franconian air. Pure nature. In the beautiful franconian villages along the river Itz one may visit various monuments and churches.
The UNESCO world cultural heritage Bamberg is just 20 km away. Here you can visit the Bamberger Dom, Bamberger Reiter, the old town, the old town hall, small Venice and you can undertake boat trips.
The Main valley is home the Basilica of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. The basilica was build in the 15th century and is nowadays one of the most famous pilgrimage churches in Upper Franconia. The monastery Banz is located at the other side of the valley. Here the Hans Seidel foundation regularly hosts events.
Bad Staffelstein is located 1km away. It is not only the place of birth of Adam Riese, but it also hosts the warmest hot springs in the whole of Bavaria with an extraordinary bath and sauna world.
Worth a visit are also the following highlights: the Veste Coburg which hosts a famous art collection, the castle Ehrenburg with it's collection of paintings. The bike trail Jtzgrund is perfect for bike and in-line skates tours, since the landscape along the trail does not contain hills and mountains.
The close surrounding of the holiday apartment offers an excellent hiking trail network, some directing towards the natural preserve Hassberge.
