Holiday destination
The village of Matala is placed at the south coast of Crete and is easy reachable from the airport of Heraklion.
Iti is a small village which mainly depends on the tourism industry although it did not loose its authentic character.
Family-run restaurants and hotels give Matala its unique character. Cars have been banned from the village centre, a while ago.
Matala's geographical position makes it to a perfect starting point in order to explore Crete and its treasures.
