Bonnewitz with its landmarked village centre lies nestled at the foot the Borsberg, an idyllic landscape, and yet only 4 km from Dresden's city limits, 5 km from Pirna's medieval town centre and 2 km from Saxon Switzerland. From here you can explore the hiking region around the Borsberg with its royal hunting trails via the Hohe Brücken, or follow the Dichter-Musiker-Maler-Weg, a long-distance hiking trails leading from Dresden-Loschwitz to Saxon Switzerland. Pillnitz Castle, Stolpen Castle, the Bastion, the Saxon Switzerland National Park, Weesenstein Castle and the Barockgarten Großsedlitz (park) are no more than 15 km from your accommodation. The bus -line 63- will take you from the village centre to Dresden's city centre.
Getting there
By car: travelling from Prague via the A17, take the exit Pirna and continue straight ahead until you reach Bonnewitz (about 9 km); or you can take the S-Bahn (suburban train) from Dresden to Pirna, where you will be picked up.
