Location of the Holiday Home:
The holiday home is situated right in the center of Zingst, close to the main promenade with its many shops, bakeries, supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, and boutiques. The main beach and the pier can be easily reached within just a few minutes on foot.
Location of Zingst:
The Zingst Peninsula lies at the eastern end of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula on the Baltic Sea. It belongs to the district of Vorpommern-Rügen in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, specifically in the region of Vorpommern. The independent municipality of Zingst covers almost the entire peninsula as well as the small islands Kirr and Barther Oie to the south. Since 2002, Zingst has been officially recognized as a seaside health resort.
Stretching about 20 km in length and 2 to 4 km in width, Zingst connects to the Darß Peninsula to the west. The area is known for its wide, fine sandy beaches, which continue along the Darß for approximately 40 km.
At the International Tourism Fair (ITB) in Berlin, the Baltic Sea resort of Zingst was awarded the title of world’s most popular holiday destination in 2010. Large parts of the town are traffic-calmed or designated as pedestrian zones, offering a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Explore the unique natural landscape of the peninsula by bike, on foot, or by boat. A particular highlight is the autumn migration of cranes in the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park. From September to November, tens of thousands of cranes gather in the shallow coastal waters near Western Rügen and the islands of Bock and Werder, forming Central Europe’s largest crane resting site.
Before their long journey south, the cranes build up their energy reserves here. They gather in large flocks, spending the night standing in shallow water or on grassy islands, safe from predators like foxes. At sunrise, they fly to feeding areas on the mainland—sometimes up to 25 km away—and return in the evening to their roosting sites. Flying in V-shaped formations or long lines, their trumpeting calls can be heard from afar. Watching their arrival is a breathtaking and unforgettable natural spectacle.
Getting there
You can reach Zingst from Berlin via the A19 motorway and from Hamburg via the A20. From the Rostock-Ost motorway exit, take the B105 towards Ribnitz-Damgarten. In Altheide, turn left onto the Bäderstraße (L21) towards Fischland-Darß-Zingst and follow the road until you reach the Baltic Sea resort of Zingst.

Als sehr positiv ist die absolute Traumlage des Hauses zu bewerten. Direkte Anbindung zur Ortsmitte, wenige Gehminuten zum Strand und zum Hafen. Außerdem haben wir sehr selten auf so guten Matratzen geschlafen. Allerdings gab es für uns einige Abstrin Punkto Sauberkeit. Im unteren Bad waren doch sehr große Spinnweben unter der Decke, zusätzlich sind die Silikonfugen in der Dusche verschimmelt und sollten erneuert werden. Zudem funktionierte der Wasserablauf in der Dusche eher schlecht. Der Abstellraum ist sehr unaufgeräumt und schlecht zugänglich.
