Just a 20-minute drive away is Corinaldo, a charming medieval village. Pass through the Mura dello Scorticatore via Porta Santa Maria del Merca, one of the three entrance gates. Climb the more than one hundred steps of via Piaggia, where you will find the legendary Pozzo della Polenta built in the 15th century, and admire the view from the top of the steps. Then treat yourself to a stroll along Via del Corso through its narrow alleys.
At the same distance away you find Fossombrone. After visiting the historic centre, head to the Bel Vedere viewpoint, which offers a wonderful view of the city. Then head to Marmitte dei Giganti, where you can relax and go canoeing.
About a 30-minute drive inland in the Marche region, you can reach Acqualagna, known as the City of Truffles, and Furlo, where nature lovers can enjoy trekking, rock climbing, and canoeing on the Candigliano river. There is also an adventure park for children.
About 40 minutes away by car is Urbino, famous for its Renaissance historic centre, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is well worth a visit.
