Far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, about 4 km south of Bad Doberan, in the middle of a picturesque terminal moraine landscape and on an 85-meter-high hill, there is a small settlement that has long attracted artists, healers, and those seeking peace and quiet—the district of Glashagen Ausbau. An offshoot of the Way of St. James pilgrimage route runs right past our property, and not far from there, in a valley, is the source of the well-known Glashäger spring – the pure spring water itself is then bottled in Bad Doberan and distributed worldwide. Just a few kilometers northwest of Bad Doberan, directly on the Baltic Sea, lies the small “white town” of Heiligendamm, Germany's oldest seaside health resort. Between Bad Doberan and Heiligendamm runs one of the longest and most beautiful tree-lined avenues, in the middle of which is Germany's oldest horse racing track – for many years also the venue for the well-known Zappanale festival. From Bad Doberan, and thus ultimately also from our estate, it is approximately 15 km to the seaside resorts of Warnemünde in the east and Kühlungsborn in the west – easily reached by car on the L12 resort road or by bicycle on the Baltic Sea long-distance cycle route.
