Bookings are received many months on forehand, so we may not be able to replace your booking. In case we do find a replacement, we will give you the settlement amount back.

The castle is formed by a main building with tower, the former guards' houses, Vicinìa, stables, artisan's house, granary, archives, rice mill, beautiful park and rivers. In the middle of the complex there is a church. Outside, there's a small rural village, which is surrounded by a lovely countryside, vineyards and is near to other rural villages and the seaside

Host informationGabriella Williams di Strassoldo grew up between Germany, Great Britain and Belgium and speaks English, German, French and Italian. As a child, came down to Strassoldo, where her grandparents lived, only during her Summer holidays. She was so fond of the place, that she insisted in coming to live in Italy when she was a teenager. A few years earlier, her mother had to move to Friuli, too. The castle and surrounding buildings were in an awful condition, then. She helped her mother a lot already while she was studying and busy with her own career. At a certain point, she initiated extremely time-consuming and expensive projects, and she therefore started dedicating her whole time to the preservation and reconstruction of the family's estate. Among the many restorations she carried out, she also restored two guards houses, the Vicinia (ancient administrative centre), the tower and the rice mill and transformed them into lovely holiday homes for people who love living in a castle atmosphere surrounded by b...

Schön und romantisch! Wir haben das Schloss im Jahr 2022 und erneut in diesem Jahr (2024) besucht. Beide Aufenthalte waren sehr bereichernd. Hier findet man Ruhe und Frieden in der Natur, und die kleine Stadt Strassoldo hat auch kulturell viel zu bieten. Wie man in Italien weiß, ist das Essen wie immer großartig. Für mich eine ganz klare Empfehlung. Die Hausmeisterin ist unglaublich freundlich! Der große Garten ist eingezäunt, sodass das Schloss auch für Kinder geeignet ist. �

Auch mit jahrelanger Ferienwohnungserfahrung haben wir noch nie eine Ferienwohnung oder - haus gehabt, das erstens so authentisch, rustikal gemütlich und mit so viel Liebe und Geschmack eingerichtet und zugleich mit allem technischen Komfort ( Wasch- und Spülmaschine, Mikrowelle, Backofen u.s.w. ) ausgerüstet war. In der perfekt ausgestatteten Küche war bis hin zum Eisportionierer wirklich alles vorhanden! Dazu die herrliche Lage auf dem schönen Schloßgelände mit eigenem Gartenteil und Zugang zum gepflegten, riesigen Park mit Wasserlàufen und wunderbarem Baumbestand und Rabatten. Die Lage von Strassoldo um das gesamte Friaul/Jul. Venetien in Tagestouren zu erkunden ist ebenfalls ideal. Unser Dank gilt der Gastgeberin Gabriella und Nidia für den netten Empfang und die liebevolle Betreuung.
