Holiday destination
The Harz National Park sprawls around the highest mountain in Northern Germany. The national park occupies about 10 percent of the total area of the Harz Highland Region which is home to majestic Mount Brocken. There, in parts of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, massive reforestation programmes are under way to restore the region to its natural splendour. The region is also home to the Selketal and Bodetal Valleys, the most beautiful and legendary valleys in all of Central Germany.
