Nestled among the highest peaks of the Alps, in Chamois, one of Italy's loftiest municipalities, our house sits at an elevation of 18015 m on a south-facing slope. Chamois is part of the "Alpine Pearls" group, a collection of car-free and eco-friendly holiday destinations. Here, instead of car noise, you'll hear the soothing sounds of the river and the chiming of cowbells.
A short walk away, there's a general store with a wide range of products and several restaurants.
The gondola's mountain station and the chairlift's valley station are approximately 120m away as the crow flies. Our house is right next to the ski slope. You can strap on your skis right outside the door and ski down to the lift.
You can reach the large Cervinia Zermatt ski area within 30 minutes by gondola and bus.
Getting there
By car to the valley of Buisson and then every half hour by cable car to Chamois. A 5-minute ride.
By train/plane to Milan and then continue with a rental car or by train and bus to Buisson.
