Getting there
By car:
If arriving from anywhere except the Southwest (Devon, Cornwall), drive first towards London, then via Canterbury/Dover. Follow the signs to Ramsgate, Margate, or Broadstairs.
From the Southwest, drive towards Dover and follow the signs to Ramsgate, Margate, or Broadstairs.
From the Eurotunnel terminal in Folkestone, the drive to Thanet via the A20 and A256 takes about 1 hour.
By coach (National Express):
Connections from London Victoria to Thanet take approximately 3 hours 20 minutes.
By train:
Frequent connections are available from London Victoria, Charing Cross, St Pancras, and Stratford International, as well as from Ebbsfleet and Ashford to Margate, Broadstairs, and Ramsgate.
Trains from St Pancras and Stratford International use the High-Speed 1 line (HS1). Make sure your ticket is valid for HS1.
Travel times: approx. 1h 22min (St Pancras), 1h 50min (Victoria), 2h (Charing Cross).
By Eurostar:
Eurostar connections to Thanet are available from St Pancras (1h 22min). The Eurostar runs internationally from Brussels, Lille, and Paris to London St Pancras.
By bus:
Local buses are operated by Stagecoach and Eastonways. Timetables and stops are available on their websites.
By plane:
All London airports—Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton, City—plus Southend Airport in Essex are about a 2½-hour drive from Thanet.

Host informationHi, I’m Simone. I’m originally from Germany and have lived in England for nearly 30 years. Over that time, I’ve welcomed many wonderful guests to Holland House.
This is Holland House is a truly special place. Built in 1756, everything around it, except, of course, the sea, was designed to enhance the view, something you’ll rarely find in a holiday home today. To the right, there was Kingsgate Castle build, and to the left, a pub called the Captain Digby that served Lord Holland’s guests. Behind the property stood a magnificent ballroom, and further afield, even a convent was built to accommodate his visitors.
When we first arrived, we fell in love at first sight, and that feeling has never faded.
We would be delighted to welcome you here one day and hope you’ll fall in love with it too. See you soon!

Die Wohnung ist sicher schon älter. Der Teppich war nicht so toll und zum Kochen haben wir stilles Wasser aus dem Supermarkt gekauft. Dennoch empfehle ich die Wohnung absolut weiter. Sie versprüht englischen Charme. Der Ausblick ist überwältigend. Die Nähe zum Strand, Spielplatz, Captain Digby (Pub)... alles perfekt für Familien mit kleineren Kindern. Zudem ist die Vermieterin überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Jede Menge Sandspielzeug ist vorhanden und wir durften auch Neoprenanzüge leihen. So dass die Kinder im April im Meer waren.
Sightseeing (u.a. London, Canterbury und viele Castle) waren absolut gut möglich und gut kombinierbar mit entspannten Tagen am Strand.
Ein herzlicher Dank nochmal an die tolle Vermieterin.
Und eine herzliche Empfehlung für einen wirklich tollen Urlaub.

Ausstattung sehr zufrieden. Umgebung mit Blick aufs Meer und der Bucht ist ein Ort, in dem man entspannen kann. Viele Möglichkeiten zum wandern.Frau Vince ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sie hat die richtigen Tipps zur Umgebung.
