Our tips for a day out
It is well worth taking the time to visit other towns, such as Leeuwarden (16 km), Sneek (19 km), Bolsward (15 km), Dokkum (55 km) and Harlingen (8 km). Moreover, the West Frisian Islands, such as Terschelling and Vlieland, are within easy reach by boat from Harlingen.
Other ideas for a fun day out: Museum Martena and, of course, the Eise Eisinga Planetarium in Franeker or the Frisian Museum in Leeuwarden.

Parking
Naturally, you can unload the luggage from your car (and, at the end of your stay, load it back in again) at the door to the house. There is free long-stay parking in the immediate vicinity (at only 3 minutes’ walking distance). There is pay meter parking alongside the canal (between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm), and on Sundays parking is free throughout Franeker.

Das "Huisje aan de gracht" ist ein wunderschönes, kleines Haus in Franeker, sehr schön gelegen an der Gracht am Rade des Zentrums. Alles in Franeker ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar._x000D_

Franeker ist ein sehr schönes Städtchen, ideal gelegen zwischen Leeuwarden (1h mit dem Rad, 30min mit dem Auto) und Harlingen (30min mit dem Rad, 20min mit dem Auto). In Franeker sind tolle Boutiquen, Geschäfte und gute Gastronomie vorhanden._x000D_

Tipps: Restaurant De Stadsherberg, Schaafsma Banketbakkerij, Grand Café De Doelen, Pizzeria Antonello (29 Schritte vom Huisje entfernt ;-) ), Raadhuis Franeker, Eisinga Planetarium.

Het huisje is heel mooi ingericht, je kan er gewoon koken, kruiden, zout, koffie en thee en koffie melk,zijn er allemaal. Alles is netjes en schoon. De douche is ruim en heeft een goede straal, de badkamer is ruim en het toilet boven is ook lekker ruim en apart van de badkamer. Ook omdat deze boven zit, is fijn, je hoeft dan niet in het donker naar beneden. Het zitje buiten is ook fijn. De bedden slapen goed._x000D_
De gastvrouw is erg aardig en ze had zelfs een flesje wijn met nootjes en zoutjes klaargezet voor ons. Het is erg stil in de avond en nacht, zodat zelf een lichte slaper zoals ik, aan haar nachtrust kwam._x000D_
Je zit midden in het oude centrum er is heel veel te zien in de omgeving._x000D_
Jammer dat het zo licht is in de slaapkamer, verduisteringsgordijnen zouden heel fijn zijn, je wordt nu wel erg vroeg wakker door het licht. Jammer dat alléén 1 raam in de slaapkamer en de achterdeur beneden open kan, bij warm weer is het boven dan ook best warm. We misten kussentjes voor de stoeltjes buiten en een poefje om je voeten op te leggen ( dit van binnen meegenomen) Zonder zit wat minder comfortabel._x000D_
Als je binnen op de bank zit, zien alle mensen, ( en dat zijn er best veel) die voorbij lopen, je op de bank zitten en kan je niet onderuit gezakt gaan hangen.( Wat ruitjes aan de onderkant afplakken of mat maken zou hier zo in helpen)
