    Getting there
    Between Matrei and Lienz (about in the middle of the stretch) you'll see the village of Huben. At Huben please turn right before the village up the hill toward " Defereggental/Stallersattle". After the village of Hopfgarten there are large avalanche barriers, then a "natural tunnel". If you set the odometer in the natural tunnel, it is almost exactly 5 km from there. After these 5 kilometres you'll see a concrete bridge on the left side, please drive over it (turn left!) then my Haus Even is on the right. Voila! You've arrived! :)

    Host informationI spend the greater part of my holidays as a child and adolescent with my family at House Even, and this region is of course associated with childhood memories! Haus Even was given to me by my mother in 2012, and it is now in the 3rd generation of our family. I've been living in Vienna for a few years, and always enjoy days or weeks in the Defereggental and my house to relax and recuperate. When I'm in the Defereggental I'm at your disposal for personal questions!

    Haus Even bietet eine angenehme, geschichtsträchtige Atmosphäre und abgesehen davon, sehr zeitgemäße Annehmlichkeiten. Allein schon die einzigartige Landschaft hat unseren Wanderurlaub zu etwas Besonderen weden lassen. Obwohl wir bereits mehrmals im Defreggental waren, gibt es hier immer noch viel zu entdecken. Diesmal waren wir erstaunt, über die vielen Pilze und Beeren (Himbeeren, Schwarzbeeren), die wir hier gefunden haben. Am guten alten "Holzherd" wurden dann die Pilze zusammen mit Zwiebel Speck und Eiern, zubereitet. Sehr angenehm und entspannent war und ist immer wieder aufs Neue, die Freundlichkeit, die Ruhe und Gelassenheit, die hier von den Einheimischen ausgeht.

    Nach einem wunderschönen erholsamen Sommerurlaub im Defereggental kann ich die bestens gepflegte und heimelige Ferienwohnung Even sehr empfehlen. Das charmante gediegene Interieur verbindet sich auf äußerst gelungene Weise mit der modernen Bad- und Küchenausstattung - alles ästhetisch und praktisch. Der liebevolle Empfang der Gastgeberin und ein köstliches kleines Gastgeschenk zum Abschied - mehr wird nicht verraten- empfand ich als Tüpfelchen auf dem i! Die Even war für uns ein idealer Ausganspunkt für Ausflüge in die Defregger Natur und Bergwelt, zum Golfen und für eine Spritztour nach Südtirol. Die kühle Abend- und Nachtluft hat uns hitzgeplagte StädterInnen herrlich erfrischt. Wir kommen sicher wieder!
