Holiday destination

The name Valbandon comes from the medieval Italian term "vala abandonata". At the beginning of the 20th century, when Istria was under the Austrian Empire, there was a fish processing and ice making facility in the coastal region of Valbandon. But the facility was not profitable enough and so the idea of tourism prevailed.
