Braunlage is accessible via the Bundesstraße 4, from the direction of Braunschweig and the Bundesstraße 27.
By train
The nearest train stations are in Sorge and Elend on the Harzquerbahn. Train stations of the DB are located in Bad Harzburg, Goslar, Bad Lauterberg, Walkenried and Wernigerode. From there (except Goslar) there are bus connections to Braunlage.
By bus
There are bus connections to Braunlage from Bad Harzburg (approx. 38 minutes travel time with hourly intervals), from Sankt Andreasberg (approx. 20 minutes travel time) and from Walkenried (approx. 38 minutes travel time with two-hourly intervals). Further connections are to Elend (approx. 13 minutes travel time) and Wernigerode (approx. 1 hour travel time).
