Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir sofort herzlich von Dik und seiner italienischen Frau begrüßt. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse auf den Apennin und Modigliana war atemberaubend. Am Anreisetag war es recht kühl, so dass uns die Bedienung des Holzofens und des Kamins erklärt wurde. Dik hat alles getan. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und sehr persönlich mit modernen und alten Innenelementen eingerichtet. Die Geschichte des Hofes reicht mehr als zehn Jahrhunderte zurück. Wir nutzten das Haus als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Ravenna, Bologna, San Marino und Monte Falterona (1654 m) an der Grenze zur Toskana. Es ist eine wunderschöne Gegend ohne Massentourismus, außer natürlich Ravenna und San Marino. Alle waren äußerst hilfsbereit und freundlich. Viele Italiener sprechen ziemlich viel Englisch.
