Holiday destination
The cradle of this unique holiday settlement in Europe was in Florida. With more than 30 km of navigable seawater canals, where villas and little fishermen's houses in Spanish-Moorish style with their own boat moorings dominate the scene, Ampuriabrava, or in Catalan Empúriabrava, is the largest marina in Europe.
The town of Empúriabrava itself has a base area of 6,000,000 sqm and 54 km of promenades. Just 38 km behind the French border between Figueres and Roses lies Empúriabrava, in the sheltered bay of Roses – with the Pyrenees in the background and the sea in the foreground – on the Costa Brava.
