Just around the corner from the vacation home you will find a beautiful hessian forest (42% of Hessen is in fact forest), here you can go for nice walks, if you are interested in going for longer walks or hiking the Weill-Bicycle path is extremely suitable. The path follows the stream of both the Weil and Lahn river.
Holiday destination
The tiny hamlet "Ernsthausen" belongs to the municipality of "Weilmünster" (3 km away) where you can find several large supermarkets and smaller bakers, as well as a butcher.
Only a short distance away is the city "Weilburg" (10 km). Bigger cities in close proximity are "Wetzlar", "Limburg" (both 30 km), "Giessen" (45 km) as well as "Frankfurt" and "Wiesbaden" (both 65 km).
Apart from half-day trips to these cities other free time activities include: Open-air museum Hessenpark, Roman settlement on the Saalburg, Mathematics Museum in Gießen, a beautiful 13th century castle in Braunfels, Renaissance palace in Weilburg, "Tierpark" (similar to Zoo, but more spacious and closer to nature) in Weilburg, Cristal caves in Kubach.
Getting there
The easiest way to reach the vacation-home is by car. Ernsthausen is a very small village, because of this the bus only drives through here every hour, less on weekends.
You needn't worry about parking space- you can park right in front of the house!
Since the vacation home is situated in a cul-de-sac there is very little traffic.

Wie schon oft in den letztem Jahren waren wir ein paar Tage zum Wandern in Ernsthausen in der Ferienwohnung Fuchswäldchen. Wir fühlen uns sehr wohl dort, die Umgebung, die Lage der Wohnung, die schöne Einrichtung und die vollständige Ausstattung und sehr nette Vermieter, alles Bestens. Nächstes Jahr gerne wieder!
