In Gruissan, Languedoc-Roussillon, a charming fishing village on the Mediterranean coast,
restaurants, bakeries, and seasonal shops are just a 5-minute walk away.
The "Hameaux de la Plage" residence is located in the quiet hamlet of Les Ayguades, not far from the towns of Gruissan and Narbonne-Plage . You'll be staying on a stunningly beautiful and wide beach of fine, light-colored sand that stretches for kilometers along the Mediterranean.
The beach is popular with families with children because it is very wide and soft, safe for children, and ideal as a giant playground.
The "Hameaux de la Plage" residence is a spacious complex. The holiday homes, built in the Provençal style, are grouped into blocks of four or five and each has a terrace.
A small supermarket and several small shops are located approximately 400 meters from the complex.
Gruissan, about 3 km from Les Ayguades, has retained its traditional village character. Visitors will find a typical southern European fishing and wine-growing village here, with its narrow streets dominated by the ruins of an old Barbarossa storm surge barrier. A market takes place several days a week around the old fishing port. Here you'll find everything you'd expect from a Mediterranean market, from fresh fish, shellfish, vegetables, fruit, and herbs to meat.
Alongside the old Gruissan, the modern Gruissan has sprung up around the new port. Here, night owls will find discos, and the port area boasts restaurants and bars with live music.
About 11 km inland lies the district capital, Narbonne. An old Roman administrative city, situated along the Canal du Robin, its old town and imposing cathedral invite visitors to stroll and explore. Don't miss the daily market in the old market halls – a true delight for any food lover.
