Holiday destination
Our holiday is located in a quiet location in the Main valley on the outskirts of Lohr-Steinbach near the Huttenschloss.
It is located in the Spessart natural park at the mouth of the Buchental.
Our multifaceted natural surroundings of fields, meadows and mixed forests that reach to the house have leisure activities of all types.
The sights in the area include the old town of Lohr, the castle, the Bayersturm and the local traditions museum.
You can reach the cloister church of Mariabuchen through the Buchental.
The water castle of Mespelbrunn and the wild animal park with climbing area in Heigenbrücken is worth a visit.
At the end of July there is the Spessart festival week, the fifth season of the Lohr.
Würzburg and Aschaffenburg can be reached by bus, train or car in no time.
Getting there
From Frankfurt:
A3 exit at Weibersbrunn, towards Lohr over the Main to Steinbach
From the direction of Giessen:
A66 Gelnhausen-Ost exit, continue on the B276 through the Flörsbachtal to Lohr.
There cross the Rhine to Steinbach
From the direction of Kassel:
A7 Hammelburg exit, toward Gemünden, there cross the Main, then continue to Steinbach.
From the direction of Nuremberg/Ulm:
A3 Würzburg-Rottendorf exit, through Würzburg, B27 towards Fulda via Karlstadt, there cross the main through Wiesenfeld to Steinbach.
From the direction of Stuttgart:
A81 the Würzburg Triangle, continue on the A3 toward Frankfurt. Exit at Marktheidenfeld, towards Lohr, there cross the Main to Steinbach.

Das absolut ruhige, ökologisch ausgebaute Ferienhaus der Familie Helfrich hat es uns angetan. Wir sind froh und dankbar, dass wir nach gut zwei Wochen im für uns persönlich eingetrübten November noch einmal direkt über die Weihnachtsfeiertage das großzügige Haus und die überaus herzliche Gastfreundschaft ganz entspannt genießen können.
Natürlich müssen wir im Sommer nochmal wiederkommen. So wie wir das im Buchbachhäusle 2024 schon begonnen hatten.
Der gepflegte Garten, die geschützten Sitzplätze, die wunderbaren Aussichten auf Wiesen und Wald oder zum Main raus, das alles lädt ein zum Runterkommen. Die Landschaft in den Spessarttälern und -höhen bis hinein in die Weiten der Rhön, das will (neu) erkundet und per Rad oder pedes durchstreift werden.

Sehr schöne, gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung mit eigenem Gartenbereich, nur 3 km von Lohr entfernt.
Von hier aus ist der Main-Radweg schnell zu erreichen und auch der Spessart zum Wandern liegt direkt hinter der Haustür. Auf das Auto konnten wir, dank der Fahrräder (Die Vermieter vermieten auch 2 E-Bikes) an, gut verzichten.
Wer die Nähe zur Natur liebt, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben.
Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt, uns gut erholt und würden wieder hinfahren.
