Cancellation policy
If the guest cancels after booking and the landlord is unable to re-let the accommodation, the tenant is liable to pay compensation amounting to 50% (for cancellations up to the 21st day before arrival) or 80% (for cancellations from the 20th day before arrival) of the rental price for the period that cannot be rented out. The reasons for cancellation are irrelevant. Therefore, it is recommended to take out travel insurance. The landlord is obliged to try to re-let the accommodation to avoid loss. Any advance payments will be offset against the cancellation costs, any resulting credit will be refunded, or additional charges will be calculated accordingly.

Holiday destination
Our holiday home is located in the Beach Resort Makkum holiday park. Within walking distance in the park, you can reach the several hundred meters long sandy beach. The water depth is only knee-high well into the IJsselmeer, making it perfect for a beach holiday with children or for windsurfing. Along the beach promenade, there are several windsurfing schools where you can also learn to windsurf. Recently, the surf spot has also been opened to kitesurfers between October 1st and May 1st.
Furthermore, the holiday park has a small supermarket, which you can easily reach on foot towards the beach promenade.
Makkum is a small fishing village in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is located directly on the IJsselmeer near the Afsluitdijk to the North Sea. Today, Makkum is considered a holiday resort and has about 3,500 inhabitants. The village center offers some small shopping opportunities and invites you to stroll around. There are also several restaurant and snack options.
In a large and spacious supermarket in the village, you can buy everything you need for your holiday.
Makkum also has several harbors for sailing boats.
Around the IJsselmeer is the well-known nature reserve. This offers a great variety of plants and birds. Part of the nature reserve is directly adjacent to the holiday park, inviting you for long walks to enjoy the diversity of nature.
Moreover, the flat landscape is perfect for beautiful bike rides. The signposted routes extend along the IJsselmeer. Thus, Workum can be reached in 11 km. The beautiful fishing village of Hindeloopen can be reached in about 17 km. Today, with its picturesque old houses and canals, Hindeloopen is a museum town. Hindeloopen has several souvenir shops and a noteworthy junk and antique market. The village has a marina and today mainly lives on the tourism of IJsselmeer sailors.
If you ever feel the urge to visit a larger city, the nearby city of Sneek can be reached via the A7 motorway in about 25 km. This typical Dutch city with many canals offers many shopping opportunities.
Amsterdam can also be reached via the A7 motorway in about 114 km.

Wir waren mit unseren 3 Kindern in der Unterkunft bei Familie Horstmeier .Dem Haus hat es an nichts gefehlt, die Betten sind bequem. Alles war sauber. Die Lage und der Park sind sehr schön. Highlight war die Fassauna mit dem wirklich tollem Panoramablick. Kurzum hatten wir einen tollen Aufenthalt und empfehlen die Unterkunft gerne weiter. Kommunikation hat auch gut geklappt. Wir kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder. Vielen Dank für alles.
