    The surroundings of Podere di Maggio are really beautiful; more original than the rest of Tuscany, rich in nature reserves, forests and clean streams. Within half an hour there are various hot springs (Saturnia, Bagni San Filippo), beautiful medieval towns (Sorano, Pitigliano) and Etruscan excavations. The beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea with beautiful beaches is one hour away, as well as Lake Bolsena. Siena, Orvieto and Perugia can also be reached in a bit more than an hour.
