La Torretta is located in the southern Maremma, the mystical part of Tuscany, steeped in the legacy of the mysterious Etruscans, whose presence is still palpable everywhere.
The Vie Cave, the Etruscan hollow ways, are just a few minutes from the house. The Etruscan towns of Sorano, Pitigliano, and Sovana, carved into the tufa rock and seemingly emerging from a fairytale, are also nearby and offer a truly unique atmosphere. A good network of hiking trails allows for a slower pace of life.
The hot springs of Saturnia, with their famous waterfall, are freely accessible, as are the large thermal baths of Saturnia and Sorana, and can be reached in half an hour from the house.
Lake Bolsena, with its beautiful beaches and inviting towns, is less than 50 km away. Small restaurants on the shore offer delicious, freshly caught fish.
The sea, near Orbetello or Capalbio, where Niki de Saint Phalle's Tarot Garden is also worth seeing, can be reached in just under an hour.
Or you can simply enjoy the garden, the terrace, and the jacuzzi. It's wonderful to lose yourself in the incredibly close starry sky in the evenings, relaxing in the rocking loungers and watching the shooting stars drift by, completely undisturbed by light pollution.
