Holiday destination
Vakantiepark Eigen Wijze lies on a former 7-hectare farm in the Noordoostpolder, right next to the 1,200-hectare Kuinderbos forest with walking, cycling and mountain bike trails and a dog off-leash area. On the park: restaurant FENN's, tennis court, sports fields, playground, go-karts, canoes and a fishing pond. Nearby: Lemmer and the IJsselmeer (8 km), Schokland UNESCO site (16 km), Urk (18 km), Weerribben-Wieden National Park (20 km) and Giethoorn (21 km).
Getting there
By car: via the A6 (Amsterdam/Lelystad to Joure), exit Emmeloord or Lemmer, then follow the signs to Bant. Navigation address: Schoterpad 1, 8314 RA Bant. There is ample parking for cars and minibuses; the fishing village part of the park is car-free.
By public transport: train to Steenwijk or Heerenveen, then a regional bus towards Emmeloord/Bant. For the last kilometres a taxi is recommended.
Nearest airports: Groningen Airport Eelde (approx. 90 km) and Amsterdam Schiphol (approx. 115 km).
