Holiday destination
Il Villino is located a few kilometres from Volterra on the legendary Monte Voltraio. This is a place to live and relax in beautiful countryside, in the cultural centre of Tuscany.
However, we also highly recommend the perhaps lesser-known medieval town of Volterra, ‘the city of the Etruscans and the city of alabaster’.
Getting there
Mit dem Auto über Autobahnabfahrt Pisa gelangen Sie direkt auf die Schnellstrasse Pisa-Livorno-Firenze. Fahren weiter in Richtung Volterra.
Fahren Sie die S.R.439 bis zum km 16 und dann links auf den Landweg in Richtung Pignano/Palagione.
Der Weg führt zunächst an einem Bauernhof (links) vorbei, dann über eine Brücke und geht anschliessend bergaufwärts. Nach einem weiteren Haus (links) geht es rechts in einen Seitenweg mit einer rot-weissen Schranke. An der Einfahrt steht unser Schild "Il Villino". In diesen Seitenweg hineinfahren. An der ersten Toreinfahrt ("Tre Querce") rechts vorbei finden Sie nach weiteren 150 m "Il Villino".

Ja, das Haus hat seinen Reiz, ist aber in die Jahre gekommen. Vor allem neue, bessere Matratzen wären schön. Der Pool ist sehr schön, konnte aber wegen einer Mückenplage nur sehr eingeschränkt werden genutzt werden (außerdem ohne Kindersicherung). Mit der himmlischen Ruhe, die die anderen Mieter loben, war es leider nichts. Ständig zu hören waren die zahlreichen Motorräder auf einer nahegelegenen Durchgangsstraße, Landwirtschaftsmaschinen, welche während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes die umliegenden Felder bearbeiteten, und die Mieter eines anderen nahegelegenen Ferienhauses. Bei Regen trommeln die Wassertropfen laut auf das an das Schlafzimmer angrenzende Kunststoffvordach.

Es freut uns sehr, dass Ihnen der Charakter des Hauses und insbesondere der Pool gefallen haben. Gleichzeitig bedauern wir natürlich, dass einige Punkte Ihren Aufenthalt beeinträchtigt haben.
Die Anmerkung zu den Matratzen nehmen wir ernst – guter Schlaf ist uns wichtig, und wir prüfen hier aktuell eine Optimierung. Vielen Dank für den Hinweis.
Die Mückensituation war in diesem Zeitraum leider außergewöhnlich stark und witterungsbedingt. Das lässt sich in ländlicher Umgebung manchmal nicht ganz vermeiden, wir versuchen jedoch mit entsprechenden Maßnahmen gegenzusteuern.
Was die Geräuschkulisse betrifft: Unser Haus liegt bewusst in einer ländlichen Region, in der es – je nach Saison – landwirtschaftliche Aktivitäten geben kann. Motorräder auf der nahegelegenen Straße treten erfahrungsgemäß vor allem bei schönem Wetter vermehrt auf. Viele Gäste empfinden die Umgebung als sehr ruhig, wir verstehen jedoch, dass das individuelle Ruheempfinden unterschiedlich ist.
Der Hinweis zum Kunststoffvordach bei Regen ist ebenfalls hilfreich – auch hier prüfen wir mögliche Verbesserungen.

Die Lage und das Grundstück mit Pool waren einmalig! Wir haben die Ruhe und das Panorama sehr genossen. Das Grundstück ist hoch und ausbruchsicher eingezäunt. Unser Hund konnte sich komplett frei bewegen. Das Haus ist groß und komplett ausgestattet. Kommunikation mit Herr Witzigmann war super unkompliziert und angenehm. Wir haben es geliebt und werden sicher Wiederholungstäter
