Fort Kijduin (Den Helder) - an old fort, built in 1811 by Napoleon, now expanded into a museum including a large North Sea aquarium.
In Den Helder, you can visit an old submarine at the Navy Museum.
A short ferry ride to Texel – whether as a pedestrian or a motorist – is highly recommended to view a picturesque island or to visit the seal breeding station at Ecomare and experience a feeding. A visit to the beer brewery is also very interesting.
Children's farm De Helderse Vallei with a petting zoo, climbing forest, observation tower, open-air stage, visitor center, and day trips.
Classic car enthusiasts will also enjoy themselves. In Schagen, you can find German, English, French, and of course Dutch "oldies."
And then it's almost a "must" to experience the famous cheese market on Friday in Alkmaar. In addition, you can find numerous old drawbridges and patrician houses in the old town, both of which are very impressive subjects for successful photos.
The largest indoor flea and antiques market in Europe - colloquially known as the black market – can be found in Beverwijk. There are also plenty of options for food and drink.
During a visit to Amsterdam, a cruise through the canals and waterways is recommended.
Art enthusiasts will fully enjoy themselves at the Van Gogh Museum or the Rijksmuseum.
Horseback riding on the beach is offered here.
Once a year, the Mega Beach Ride takes place in Julianadorp.
Holiday destination
The holiday home is located in the exclusive Beach Resort Ooghduyne. The resort includes a variety of facilities such as a golf course, playgrounds, mini golf, and an indoor playground (see below). It's about a 3-minute walk to the indoor pool/adventure pool with a whirlpool, children's pool, sauna, and a 55-meter-long slide.
2 playgrounds, an indoor playground, bowling alley, tennis court, mini golf, and several pétanque fields invite you to be active. On the extra family golf course, you can play golf without a handicap certificate. Ooghduyne is surrounded by small canals and channels, where you can explore the surroundings with rented canoes.
Beach and sea: A short bike and footpath through blooming tulip fields leads over the dunes to the sea. Many kilometers of wide sandy beach await you, inviting you to a dream vacation. This vast, clean beach has not yet been overrun by mass tourism and has even been awarded the EU's environmental 'Blue Flag' award.
Thus, away from the dune crossings, naturism enthusiasts also find their own area. Various beach cafes, one of which is open all year round, enrich the long vacation days. Whether on the terrace with a cool glass of wine or in winter behind glass with hot punch after brisk marches in wind and weather: You simply feel good there!
Getting there
Turn off the N9 onto Schoolweg and continue straight over the small roundabout. On the right side, there is a shopping center. Continue straight across the intersection onto VanForeestweg. The entrance to the Landal Park is on the left side.

Wir haben uns im Haus Sonnenstrand 1 sehr wohlgefühlt; ein sehr gepflegtes, sauberes, gediegenes und bestens ausgestattetes Haus in ruhiger und schöner Lage. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Wir waren zu dritt in diesem Ferienhaus. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Wir waren super zufrieden. Alles da was man braucht,und noch mehr. Zum Strand hin sollte man sich Fahrräder leihen, ist sonst bißchen weit zu Fuß. Wir werden auf jeden Fall nochmal wieder kommen.
