We are very family friendly. Being in nature is good for children. Nature abounds here. They can roam the grove, go walking, pick the fruit n veg, climb the trees, stroke the cats, help make pizzas! look at the fireflies, watch the birds overhead…endless.

Holiday destination
The farmhouse is in a superb position: about 20 minutes by road from both Pisa and Lucca, 30 minutes from the coast, about an hour from Florence. The house is set in a mature olive grove with a lovely herb garden to enjoy. There is a pizza oven and super BBQ facilities. The combination of a great home location, the surrounding hills, the nearby Mediterranean Sea and proximity to places of cultural interest make this a holiday to suit and inspire all moods and tastes in all seasons.
Getting there
By Car.Pisa and Lucca are both on the Italian motorway network. We are 3 hours from Milan, 3 Hours from Venice, 3 Hours from Rome, 2 Hours from Bologna, 2 hours from Genova, 1 hour from Florence.
By Air. PIsa airport is just 30 minutes away and serves all European countries with low cost flights. At the airport one can hire cars.
By Train: Pisa and Lucca are both on the InterCity fast train network which connects to the whole of Europe. One can easily travel from Berlin, from Paris, from London and reach here in less than one day.

Host informationWelcome to La Lucertola.
Myself and my partner Colin moved to Italy in 2001 and we created this lovely holiday business in this very beautiful part of Italy that I used to live in when I was a languages student in Pisa in the 1980's. I fell in love with the place, with the people and with Colin. We bought the land and the houses together 15 years ago and we lovingly restored them into the beautiful state they are in today. We put in an amazing swimming pool in 2015. Every year we harvest the olives in October. We live in a seperate house on the 4 hectare estate and we are available to help our guests enjoy the perfect holiday. We live here, we speak the language, we speak some German as well, and we know the area very well.

Wir haben hier eine absolut tolle und entspannte Ferienwoche bei bestem Wetter verbracht. Es gibt nichts, was zu kritisieren wäre, alles so, wie es man sich für einen Urlaub vorstellt! Schönes Haus, angenehm kühl trotz Hitze( 30 Grad im April!!), Traumhafte Terrasse mit Blick auf Pisa und das Meer, Pool zum morgendlichen Schwimmen oder auch für den Rest des Tages, absolut ruhige Lage am Berg dennoch zentral (Pisa, Lucca, Florenz schnell zu erreichen!), entspannte Abende beim Grillen und Wein trinken- Herz was willst du mehr! Ganz großes Dankeschön an unsere Gastgeber Luisa und Collin, die immer ein offenes Ohr für alle Fragen hatten und uns sogar den Kühlschrank für ein erstes Frühstück gefüllt haben! Wir können dieses Ferienhaus sehr empfehlen und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!Regina, Suze,Karl u. Dieter

Superbe maison avec une vue fantastique sur Pise et sa région. Nous étions heureux de pouvoir nous ressourcer au calme après une journée de visite. La maison était confortable pour nous avec ses 2 grandes chambres et sa cuisine bien équipée. Luisa nous a gentiment prêté un lit bébé ainsi que des caisses de jeux pour les enfants. Elle parle très bien français ce qui facilite la communication et a été de très bon conseil pour le restaurant et l'épicerie située au village juste à côté. Notre seul regret a été de venir trop tard dans la saison et de ne pas pouvoir profiter du la magnifique piscine! Un grand merci à Luisa et sa famille pour leur gentillesse et l'agréable séjour que nous avons passé chez eux!
